Obituary of John Maynard Cline
John Maynard Cline, 75, died peacefully and quickly on January 10, 2020 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born October 17, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio to Raymond Ward and Ruth Evelyn (Cook) Cline. He worked in customer relations at Eastern Airlines for twenty years. John was a quadriplegic for fifty-five years. John met his wife, Linda Cline, through friends when she was a nurse and they were married for fifty-two years. Their love and giving spirit was reflected by the 165 dogs and 22 children they fostered together. He loved playing poker and spending time with friends in Cripple Creek. He especially liked blackjack and playing the slots. He is survived by his wife, Linda Diane Cline; his sons, John "Johnny" Maynard Cline, III and Daniel Bruce Bennett; his daughters, Amy Cline, Holly (Jeremiah Eugene) Cline Hall and Michelle Bennett-Funnell; his grandson, Ethan Aidan Bennett; his granddaughters, Sidonia May Bennett and Jordan Marie Anderson; and his brother, Thomas (Sarah Arlise) Cline. The family will be going to Cripple Creek to play poker to honor the life of John. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's memory may be made to Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue.
