Obituary of Eston Alexander Nelson, Jr.

On January 15, Eston Alexander Nelson, 52, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side after a long battle with cancer. Eston was born on February 13, 1967 in El Paso, Texas to Eston Alexander Nelson and Pauline Nelson. After graduating from Fabens High School, Eston joined the U.S. Army, where he worked as a Linguist and an Intelligence Analyst. After serving, Eston attended New Mexico State University where he played rugby. He spent an extensive career in various jobs in the computer industry with his last job being a Senior DevOps Specialist at Compassion International. He always stated it was his "home" and that he would retire from there. He loved Compassion and the mission of releasing children from poverty. Instead of stressing about life, Eston put his trust in the Lord and continuously assured his family that all things would work out. He was incredibly selfless and always put his children first. He enjoyed taking his son, Ben, to all his sports games and coaching him from the sidelines. He loved discussing films with his daughter, Jadin, and theorizing ideas in the upcoming blockbuster films. They spoke deeply about life and the meaning of it. He instilled values in his children to carry on his legacy. Eston and his wife, Jami, dreamed of buying a vacation home on a beach and living out their days together peacefully sippin' on sangrias. No trial or tribulation was able to separate them from the love they had for each other.Eston was preceded in death by his father, Eston Alexander; his mother, Pauline; and brother, Michael. He is survived by his wife, Jami Nelson; son, Benjamin Nelson; daughter, Jadin Nelson; seven siblings, Tina Jackson, Thomas Jackson, Timothy Jackson, Clifton Nelson, Paul Nelson, Phillip Nelson, and Kenneth Nelson; and a plethora of nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family.
