Obituary of Richard "Rick" Dale Parmelee

Rick Parmelee of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away in his home on February 10, 2020 at the age of 65. Rick was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Cliff and Aurora Parmelee. �He had a spirited childhood, which included pole vaulting, walking on stilts, and music. He graduated from Pueblo Central High School, and went on to explore the world. He enlisted in the United States Navy as a radioman and served on the USS Enterprise. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1977. After serving our country, Rick continued exploring by riding his Harley throughout Colorado and enjoying outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and skiing. He met and married his beloved wife, Lonnie, in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1980.�He was blessed to have Lonnie by his side when he suffered a life-altering accident in 1984 that left him wheelchair bound. He chose to not let this accident slow him down, and continued his adventurous life by traveling to beautiful places such as Mexico and Hawaii. Additionally, he earned his Bachelor's degree, with honors, from MSU Denver, majoring in Human Resource Management in 1992. Rick continued to earn his MBA from USC Pueblo in 1997.�He was an avid Denver Broncos fan and even attained his lifelong dream of attending a Broncos home game.Rick was remembered for his free spirit, for maintaining open and honest friendship, and for his fierce loyalty.
