Bob was my teletype NCOIC with the 27th Comm Sq at Andersen AFB, Guam in the late 1980's. He was well-known for his laid-back personality, and he was a great technician and a superb leader. He used to always tell me 'it's not important enough to worry about.' He certainly didn't like the snows of Colorado, but he persevered, looking forward to retirement in Florida. If heaven has a sandy beach, that's where he is now. Mike Dick, SMSgt, USAF, Retired Knob Noster, MO

Bob spent 26 years of his life serving in the USAF and then continued to work with the Department of Defense for the next 20 years after he retired. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He married Tessie Olson in August 1976. During their 43 years together, they had 2 children, Jennifer and Sean. Bob and Tess have 2 grandchildren, Joey and Kaleb Blackburn. Bob lived a full life and had great passion. He loved his family, Green Bay and Gator football, Jimmy Buffet and the ocean. He had dreams of retiring and moving to Florida, where he would have had a golf cart and a pontoon boat, living the beach life. His memorial will be held at Holy Apostles Catholic Church on 27 February 2020 at 10am.
