Obituary of Jessie Lee Pavlica

Heaven gained an angel on Saturday, February 15, 2020 as Jessie Pavlica left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her loving husband, James Pavlica, and all of her family and friends that have gone before her, paving the way for her glorious arrival. She is survived by her four beautiful children, Jeri, Rich, Jim and Mark; and their extensive families, with twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, with two great-grandchildren on the way in the summer of 2020; one great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Vivian. She loved her family fiercely and never made them wonder what was on her mind. She let them know that she prayed for each and every one of them every single day.Jessie lived a vibrant, healthy life full of hard work, amazing family vacations and world travel.Committed to education, Jessie took her children and grandchildren on educational trips abroad, unveiling the mysteries of the world to them that couldn't be taught in a classroom. An avid patron of the arts, Jessie was always taking her kids and grandkids to plays, musicals and orchestral performances, ensuring the development of their well-rounded character.Always looking to push and challenge herself, Jessie decided to attend college in her mid-50's and graduated from UCCS at the top of her class with a degree in Social Work. A true angel on earth, Jessie then dedicated the next ten years of her life working with her beloved patients at the Simla Good Samaritan Home, loving them and guiding them through their final transition in life.In 2003 Jessie lost her best friend, soulmate, and the love of her life, James Pavlica, but even that did not slow her down. On any given day during Jessie's ten years of service at the Good Samaritan Home you would find her giving her all...caring for her patients, walking miles each day at the family ranch, participating in Bible studies and social events with her friends, andspending time with her children and grandchildren. In 2011 Jessie reluctantly moved off of her cherished family ranch to Colorado Springs to be closer to her children. Always the adventurer, Jessie took on this new challenge by adding a whole new group of friends to her life while participating in Curves, multiple Bible studies and volunteering at the public library. Unfortunately, health issues eventually led to her staying in an assisted living facility for the last two years of her life. Once again this did not slow Jessie down as she made many friends in her new home and became a favorite among the staff, who continually informed her family how much they truly loved Jessie's fiery spirit, sense of humor and her loving nature.During this two-year period at the assisted living facility, Jessie was continually surrounded by her family, extensive network of friends and the loving staff that took great care of her. She was truly blessed by the constant attention, care, love and affection that all bestowed upon her. Jessie passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends.Jessie will be remembered by her adventurous spirit, her tireless work ethic, an immaculate house, her signature salad and fried chicken (she made the absolute best fried chicken in the world, by the way), beautiful Christmas holidays on the ranch, her bold opinions, her bright expressive blue eyes and the love and support she lavished upon her family and friends.Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Friday, February 28, 2020, Living Word Community Church, 532 Colorado Avenue, Calhan, Colorado 80808, to be followed by dinner at the church reception hall.
