Obituary of Bender Ray "Bud" Meeks
Bender Ray "Bud" Meeks passed from this earth on February 23, 2020.Bud was born January 28, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas where he was raised by Clyde Elmer Meeks and Louise Meeks.Bud enlisted in the United States Army in January 1960, re-enlisting in 1963 before being honorably discharged in 1969 with the rank of Sergeant. Bud did multiple tours in Vietnam and served his country admirably during his time in uniform. In 1965 Bud met and married the love of his life, Judy Elaine Butcher, on April 4, 1965. Together they lived and loved through fifty-five years together. In 1969 Bud started working for the Mountain Bell Telephone Company where worked initially as a lineman, installer and then working inside as an office technician. Bud retired in 2005 and enjoyed life to the fullest; traveling with Judy, especially their trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin as well as riding his Harley and attending Colorado College hockey games with Conner and Joe. Bud is survived by his wife, Judy; his daughter, Katie Richardson; his son, Jason Meeks; his son-in law, Joe Richardson; and his grandson, Conner Richardson; as well as other family members. Memorial Service, 1:00PM, Saturday, February 29, 2020, The Springs Funeral Services-North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923. Interment will be held for the family at a later date at Pikes Peak National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
