Obituary of Anton Bernard Fistani
Anton Bernard Fistani, 76 years old, of Colorado Springs, passed away February 23, 2020 in Colorado Springs. Anton was born on February 11, 1944 to Bernard Fistani and Nusha Zeka. He married Geti Franja in Albania on June 8, 1973 and they were married for forty-five years until Geti passed away in December of 2018. Anton attained a Master's Degree in Chemistry and later went on to attain a Ph.D. in Physical Anthropology. Anton enjoyed an illustrious career and taught chemistry in colleges and universities in Europe and North America. More recently, closer to his retirement, Anton was an instructor of foreign languages for Central Texas College at Fort Carson and he was very proud to have had the honor to work with our armed forces. Anton was a proud member of the New York Academy of Sciences and also worked at the University of Texas at Austin, where he conducted collaborative research in physical anthropology as a Fulbright Scholar. Anton was very athletic and active. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, fishing and playing chess. He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers.Anton is survived by his two sons, Eugene (Lisa) Fistani of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Julian (Jennifer) Fistani of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three grandchildren, Isabella, Blake and Cailey Fistani; and nieces and nephews.Graveside Service, 2:00PM, Friday, February 28, 2020, Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 South Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
