He grew up with two brothers and two sisters in the small town of Eureka, South Dakota. While a senior in high school, Ron met his future wife, Ruth Emelia Werre, who lived in Hosmer, a nearby town. Ron and Ruth married just two years after graduation and together they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. In December of 1966 Ron joined the Army. During his military service, they lived in Massachusetts, where their first daughter, Christine, was born. They also lived in Asmara, Ethiopia for over two years where their second daughter, Toni, was born.Their son, Dean Allen, passed shortly after birth. After his service in the military, the family visited friends in Colorado where they decided to make their home. Ron was a member of Village Seven Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed many hobbies including woodworking, gardening, taking long walks, and watching the Broncos. He loved the Rocky Mountains and enjoyed camping with his family. He lovingly maintained and remodeled their home of forty-two years.Ron passed away just three days before he and Ruth would have celebrated their fifty-fifthwedding anniversary. Ron is survived by his wife, Ruth; his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Don Fisher of Saint Paul, Minnesota; his daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Anthony Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and four granddaughters, Kendall, Kristen, Kasey, and Kayla Smith. We will mourn the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather as we celebrate his life and our love for him. Ron will truly be missed by all those whose lives were touched by him.
