Obituary of Eric Allen O'Brien

Eric Allen O'Brien, 34, died May 25, 2020 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.He was born August 20, 1985 to Rudy Allen and Melissa Jane Thurston in La Crosse, Wisconsin.Eric was a service technician in the petroleum industry. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force and served for ten years.He loved his family, fishing, hiking and camping, and his car. He loved to learn. Eric was an amazing provider, he was a "Bright Shining Light" to all who knew him. Eric loved to laugh, tease, and prank people. He had a great sense of humor. He really only wanted to be happy and see the sun and brightness in life. This is who we will remember.Eric struggled with PTSD for many years, but could not find the help he needed. He is now at peace.He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Wayne Gale Thurston; and his uncle, Cameron Mandrake (Thurston); paternal grandparents, Arlene Dennis and Kelland O'Brien.Eric is survived by his wife, Liana Marie O'Brien of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his son; Brian Allen O'Brien; his daughter, Sophia Marie O'Brien; his father and stepmother, Rudy and Rose O'Brien of Canon City, Colorado; his mother, Melissa Jane Moore; two sisters, Carolyn Ann O'Brien of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Tesia Helen Louise Moore of Sparta, Wisconsin; brother, Scott Lynn (Kaylene) Moore of Sparta, Wisconsin; many nieces, nephews, cousins and uncles; and his grandmother, Delores Thurston of Sparta, Wisconsin.Services will be held at a later date at Sidie Hollow Campground, Boat Landing Road, Viroqua, Wisconsin 54665.
