Obituary of Kathleen Mary Collins

Kathleen went to heaven to be with her parents, Sheila and Ed Collins on Sunday, May 31, 2020. Kathleen was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1965. She graduated from St. Pius X Catholic High School in Atlanta, Georgia and attended Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina before coming back to Atlanta to begin a career of thirty years at Kroger. Her passion was crocheting, she loved making placemats, shawls, hairbands, and her favorite was to create colorful blankets for each family member and many of her friends' and families' newborn babies. Kathleen headed up an effort to encourage several other women to help crochet hundreds of red caps for preemies at a local hospital in Atlanta.She also enjoyed cooking and making cakes that she decorated for all special family occasions.Following her parents' deaths, she moved to Colorado from Atlanta in 2019 to be closer to family. She was known for her sweet, quiet, positive outlook on life and was greatly loved by many.Kathleen leaves behind her sisters, Sheila Collins (Chris) Ferguson and Maureen Angela Collins; brother, Edwin John (Lena) Collins, Jr.; nephews, Trey, Jack, and Mac; and nieces, Quinn and Jennie Marie; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Atlanta, Georgia in the fall.
