Obituary of Shirley Ann Lee
Shirley Ann Lee, 79, was called home to be with her heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ May 31, 2020 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born November 30, 1940 in Timpson, Texas to Samuel and Avis (Davis) Birdine. She also lived in six different states, including Alaska, Minot, North Dakota and traveled through Canada and England with her husband of fifty-eight years, CMSgt Billy R. Lee. She loved the mountains and often said God helped us to be assigned to Colorado in July, 1989 until Christ called her home. Cooking was her passion and baking was her favorite pastime especially during the holidays, Christmas, etc. She loved doing such things for her family and friends on any occasion. Shirley had to meet some health issues, such as diabetes, which she managed very well until her death. One of her many favorite Bible verses was "Blessed be the Lord because He hath heard the voice of my supplications. Psalm 28:6."Of very great importance to Shirley and her family are those who preceded her in death, especially her oldest brother, Billy Ray Birdine; her brother, Willie James Leffall; sister, Cathy B. Wilson; and grandparents, Robert and Maggie Davis, who she called Pa-Pa and Ma-Ma and was dearly loved. She is survived by her husband, CMSgt Billy R. Lee, U.S. Air Force, (Ret.) of Colorado Springs; sons, Byron R. Lee of Colorado Springs, Daryl E. Lee of Shreveport, Louisiana and David L. Lee of Oklahoma; daughters, Sharon A. Brown of Colorado Springs and Maria M. (James) Southern of Anchorage, Alaska; several grandchildren; brother, Michael Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas; and sisters, Robbie Wilson and Beverly Wilson both of Fort Worth, Texas; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
