Obituary of Charles Henry Kothe

Charles Henry Kothe, 87, died Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Penrose Main Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Charles was born March 22, 1933 to Edward and Ida (Steever) Kothe in Bryant, South Dakota, where he was raised. After high school, he served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed a successful career at Ford Motor Company, eventually becoming a partner of Ford dealership in Murdo, South Dakota. He furthered his career as a Sales/Marketing consultant, and was a wise and successful business man.He lived for thirty happy years in Rapid City, South Dakota, where he enjoyed many wonderful friendships and hobbies, including being an avid speculator of sports. Charles was also a member of a local Lutheran Church, Elks Club, and Kiwanis.Chuck was a wonderful father and grandfather, loving son and brother, a very competitive card player, a fierce and loyal friend, and a wise and wonderful man. He will be greatly missed.Charles is preceded in death with his mother and father; and several siblings.Charles is survived by his daughter, Shelly Kothe (Lance) Stark; grandchildren, Rachael, Luke, and Julia; three siblings, Marvel, Mary and Larry; multiple nieces and nephews.
