Elliott was born to the union of Walter McQuay and Jacqueline Bowsky on June 8, 1949, both whom have preceded him in death. He was the first child of both parents.Elliott married at an early age to his first wife, Thelma, and they had two sons, Mario and Paul McQuay. Elliott was educated by the Chicago public school system, attending both Harper and DuSable High School. He then joined the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam era. Elliott moved to the Pikes Peak region in Colorado to finish his schooling and develop his career in broadcasting. He remarried to his wife, Wanza, and they celebrated thirty-nine years of marriage. In addition to his wife and sons, Elliott leaves to mourn his two brothers, Shelton L. Bowsky of Chicago, Illinois and Dino L. McQuay of Wisconsin; and one favorite sister, Salina L. Bowsky of Blue Island, Illinois. He is also survived by his three granddaughters; eight nieces and one nephew; his uncle, Lionel Bowsky of Chicago; cousin, Delores Wilson; the members of his church and many friends.Elliott was a warm, compassionate, loving person who passed on his blessings and insights on numerous issues. He was very generous with helping all his family members beyond belief. Elliott was a very religious man, and he even published a book, which is a must-read."Elliott, momma left me in charge, I'm the boss, do the bathroom! Salina, do the dishes. Dino, you sweep. Man, you ain't the boss!" - Love, Shelt "I will cherish you laughter, the courage you've shown me to step outside the box, and your unconditional love you have from God to us all. I know you are in His hands." - Love your sis, Lina"I will always remember the life lessons you taught me.
