George was one of a kind----smart, funny, caring, thoughtful, insightful and a wonderful mentor to so many. I miss talking with him on the phone and seeing him during John Sherner's and my annual hiking trips to Colorado. But he's left me with a lifetime of wonderful memories-----memories of hunting trips, sharing a beer or two together and some long and important talks. I miss ya 'ole buddy. Bill Bester.

To George's family, I met your Dad in San Antonio at the Academy of Health Sciences from 1986-1989. Since them I have kept in touch at Christmas with cards. I knew Dottie and loved how much they adored each other. He was truly an Amazing Man!!! I am so sad to hear of his death but know that he was loved and cared for, especially by his son. I am thankful that he is at peace and with his beloved Dottie. Our prayers for his family for comfort...Pat & Jim Prentiss

I can hear his voice and see his face...my Program Director at FAMC in the late ‘70's. And Dee. And his Head Ski poster "Keep the tips up." And yes she was on skis with no clothes from the waist up! Thanks George! A mentor in Anesthesia and Life...

I have so many happy memories of days and nights spent at the Haag home during their time in Takoma Park, Maryland and during a long summer visit to Colorado so many years ago. I was always made to feel that I was part of the family and I'm grateful for the numerous happy and formative experiences I enjoyed with the Haags. Jan and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Haag family and their many friends.

I remember the good times in sharing with George as we sat and talked on the Haag's porch. Those are good memories. Talking about current events and politics. George always shared his opinion of things. Sorry that those conversations cannot continue.

Our sincerest and loving condolences to the Slawinski & Haag families in the loss of your father. Our fondest memories are sharing the holidays with George in our home. He enjoyed "a glass of wine" with dinner and visiting afterward. He always had a kiss on the cheek for Jody, Terri's mom and a great handshake for Don, Terri's dad. These special times will be greatly missed. Our love to all of you. We will miss him always. Jody & Don Pachello

I first met George when I was a Phase II anesthesia student at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 1971. At that time Major Haag was one of my anesthesia instructors. He was cool and calm in the operating room. I never saw him rattled or break into a sweat. He had the ability to make you solve the problem, what ever it might be, instead of solving the problem for you. He taught me open drop ether and how to use cyclopropane. Many years later in 1986 he became the Program Director of the US Army Graduate iProgram in Anesthesia Nursing and my boss. Again he made you think, instead of solving the problem(s) for you. He was an outstanding mentor to me and many others. Pictured below Army Buddies: George, John sherner, Bill Bester, Jim Temo

Thank you, Dean. Pop always enjoyed rocking on our front porch, chatting with our neighbors and smoking a cigar! Great memories.
