Obituary of Sally Kay Milz

Sally K. Milz, 54, passed away peacefully at her home in Colorado Springs, Colorado on August 26, 2020 surrounded by her family.She was born on December 3, 1965 in Dubuque, Iowa to LaVerne and RoseMary (Bartels) Frericks.Sally attended Beckman High School in Dyersville, Iowa, excelling in several sports and went on to Kirkwood Community College, receiving her Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant degree. She married Brad J. Milz on June 18, 1988 in Dyersville. She used her degree for more than thirty years, helping the elderly return to their everyday lives in their homes, all while raising their three wonderful sons.Sally loved outdoor activities, including hiking, golfing and, of course, following her sons throughout their sporting events from a very young age through their high school and college careers. She was a dedicated wife and mother and was an enormous part of keeping the family organized as God and family were the most important things in her life.Survivors include her husband, Brad; three sons, Joshua and Matthew of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Tyler of North Platte, Nebraska; siblings, Ann (Ron) Domeyer of Earlville, Iowa, Jeff (Beth) Frericks of Gurnee, Illinois, Sue (Terry) Huberty of Clearwater, Florida, Mary Jo (Terry) Goerdt of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Peggy (Tim) Pirc of Sherrills Ford, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Diane Milz of Dyersville, Iowa; and brothers-in-law, Mike (Jackie) Milz of Dyersville, Iowa, and Jeff (Karen) Milz of Melbourne, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her father-in-law, Wayne F. Milz.A Private Memorial Service will be held 10:00AM, Tuesday, September 1, 2020. The service will be livestreamed.
