Micheal and I weren't the closest of friends but he made such a huge impact on my life. I'm so lucky to have known such a great guy. He would bright up a room the second he walked in with his charming smile. He was so funny and made me laugh everyday even if I was "mad" at him. As we all continue with our lives, we will never ever forget him. All I can say to Micheal would be, Thank You, for being such a great friend to all of us with your contagious smile. My heart goes out to his family during such a rough time.

I am so happy that I had the opportunity of being one of Michael's friends. He always brought a smile to my face and always made me laugh. He could make any class fun with his pranks and jokes. I remember in sixth grade when Michael brought the card pulls back to our grade and we would get in trouble everyday. I remember at lunch when he would try to fit the trash through the table, make a soup of combined foods, or explode a water bottle. I am going to miss Michael so much and his positive impact to our lifes. R.I.P Michael ❤️

I am lucky to have been one of Michael's closest friends. Getting to know him over these last few years has truly been a wonderful experience. With an amazing smile and a distinct laugh that never failed to brighten anyone's mood, Michael has definitely made a major impact on his community and the lives of all his friends, family, and all loved ones. I met him in first grade. For the 8 years we have known each other, we both grew and changed; however, one thing that always stayed the same about Mikey was his exuberant nature, his love for all his friends and family, and his overall amazing personality. Every morning during last school year, Mikey would greet me by either tackling me or jumping on me. Mikey was always the one friend everyone was looking forward to seeing every morning. It truly hurts to know he is gone. Michael, we all love and miss you very much. They say someone really dies once his name is spoken for the last time, so I promise you this Michael, you and your memory will live on forever.

I am proud to say I was a friend of Michael. I had the pleasure of being with him in my Latin class, where we created many life-long memories. I always enjoyed being around him and how he made anything fun. There was something about Michael that just made you want to stick around him. He will never be forgotten.

I am so happy to have been on of Michael's closer friends throughout the years. He always brought smiles onto everyone's faces during class and always pulled pranks on all of his friends to make them smile and brighten their day. Michael and I met in second grade and from there on we always spent recesses and classes talking and passing notes. He was so amazing at soccer and I'd always try to beat him but he'd always pull through and best me in some way. In seventh grade we had history and science together and it would be so funny when Mikey Wikey would sneakily sit next to me whenever we had subs. I had such a life changing experience being your friend and your jokes made me look forward to the trouble you would cause in class. We love you Michael, and Rest In Peace bro❤️

I was glad to be a teammate, friend, and classmate of Micheal. He always made me smile and he lit up the room. He was always a funny guy that pulled many pranks. Every time there was something boring he would find a way to make it fun. After school he would always pull a prank or find something to do that was fun. Some of the best memories of after school was him trying to get my shoe stuck in a tree and succeding every time. Whenever it was snowing Mikey would use the hill on the lower lot as a very fast slip and slide with people usually getting injured or hurt . Micheal had a great ability to go full send. He was over at my house a little ago and he loved the tramps. Im the beginning he could do no tricks but at the end he was doing backflips and frontflips. He always had a positive influence and I am exited to see him again, RIP Micheal ❤️

Mikey had an infectious smile and personality. Listening to all the stories his friends told about him only solidified that. Nobody will be able to fill his shoes, but let his memory, jokes, pranks, loyalty and friendship live on in all that knew him. Cameron - You are a great young man, son, and brother. Carry on your brother's smile and fun nature. Strive hard in all that you do and make him proud. You are a strong person just remember you have many ears willing to listen when you are ready and need it. Andrew and Melissa - You guys are great parents and I am heartbroken for you both. This may be the hardest thing you ever go through in your life. Lean on those around you as much, and as long, as you need. We love you guys and are here whenever you need us. To everyone else that called Mikey grandson, brother, nephew, and cousin - My heart is with you all. Anything I can do to help I am here.

Melissa and family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Lean on one another, spend quality time with loved ones, share memories, tears and laughter. Michael was a special life, he marked the lives of so many people, his life will be a treasure forever. I have so many memories of him as a young boy, usually involving his abundant playfulness and irresistibly cute face. There was only a few pictures of those boys I could find from when they were young. Always of them running around and happily playing in the background. I wanted to share one I found of little Mikey waiting patiently for a piece of cake!

Andrew, Mike - I have no magic words that can describe my sympathy for your entire family during this time. Your dad called me right after you told him the news in complete shock. I hung up the phone and the news hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm sending my live to both of you, his brother, his mother and her parents as well. From the entire de Haan family, we send our love and strength to you during this difficult time.

I was Michael's second grade teacher and he always held a very special place in my heart. He was a challenge at times, but with that infectious smile and sense of humor, I could never be upset with him, no matter what he did. Michael always enjoyed being funny and pulling pranks on others, as can be seen in the attached photo. Near the end of second grade, there was a hair bow in the classroom, and Michael decided to don it for the class. I am so saddened by the loss of this amazing person, but the memories I have of Michael will forever be sealed within my heart.

I never would have saw this coming. Over these last 4 years I became very close to Mikey. He became a great friend to me, so much so that I thought of him as a brother. My heart breaks for this family because I've spent so much time with them, that they became like a second home. I can't imagine the pain they must be going through, and I am always thinking about them and praying for them. Michael was always such a fun person to be around, and this past summer was probably the best memories I've created with him. I loved how funny he was with all of his jokes. He was always very positive, and I will miss that. I never knew how much this dude meant to me until it was too late and he was gone. It feels like just yesterday we were playing late night games together, cleaning and messing around in detention together, and doing all the stuff that me, you, and your brother used to do. I'll always remember the times we had and I will hold these memories near and dear to my heart. I'll see you again buddy. -Nathan Morris

I have known Michael throughout my time at vanguard and we became really good friends I would have never saw this coming he was the happiest person I knew he made the mood in a room change so fast he was always there for me when I needed and for that I thank him for that I'm in shock with what happened but learning to focus on all of the great memories I had with him with that I will never forget him. Michael and I had a really special bond we always thought of the same things especially if it was screwing around in class or trying to make each other late for 5 th period. I thought of Michael as a brother and I got to know him and his family throughout the school years. I'll never forget how he used to make a different concoction at lunch everyday. Without Michael I don't know if school is gonna be the same, but the memories we made with each other outweigh everything else. I'm really gonna miss him and my prayers go out to his family❤️ Rip king

Mikey is my sons idol. From the moment Isaac met Mikey he was instantly attached to him. We went on a trip to Santa Cruz with Drew and his family. During the trip Mikey was absolutely awesome with how he included Isaac in everything the big kids were doing. My son is a big Minecraft fan and Mikey showed him some cool tricks he could use on the game. After that Mikey became Isaacs hero. Isaac wanted to wear his hair like Mikey and dress like him, and talked about him constantly. My daughter and Mikey are very close as well. During the lake Collins trip they would stay up late and gaze at the stars. My family and I absolutely love Drew and his kids. All our thoughts and prayers are with them in this tragic time. We love you Mikey
