Obituary of Kay Ellen Butler
Kay Ellen Butler passed away peacefully on September 8, 2020 in her beloved city of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born December 12, 1947 to Robert and Ellen Butler in Enid, Oklahoma.Kay was accomplished, intelligent, complicated and charming. She earned her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University. She later earned a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Development from Denver University and a Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Colorado. She worked in the public schools for many years as a teacher for children with special needs and as a counselor. Kay was preceded in death by both of her parents. She is survived by her beloved husband, David Edington; a son, Darin Harper and amazing daughter-in-law, Jessica Harper of Lincoln, Nebraska; two beautiful granddaughters, Kacey and Jordan Harper also of Lincoln, Nebraska. They were the light of her life. Kay is also survived by one sister, Karen and husband, John Miazga of San Angelo, Texas; and a brother, Kenny Butler of Kiowa, Kansas.Kay had a gentle heart and adored all animals. She was an ardent bird watcher and loved to make crafts, have fun, and teach young children.
