Obituary of Josie Joy Hartley

Josie Joy Hartley, daughter of John P. Birkes and Mabel F. Birkes, born March 26, 1932, passed away on September 14, 2020.On November 29, 1952 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Dale Hartley in McPherson, Kansas. They shared their life together for sixty-eight years, making their home in Colorado Springs. Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dale Hartley, in January 2020.Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Doyle of Lamar, Colorado and Karen Hartley Owens of Rhome, Texas; her son, Kenneth Michael (Karen) Hartley of Colorado Springs; her grandchildren, Tammi (Richard) Whisennand of Lamar, Colorado, Dustin (Summer) Owens of Brush, Colorado, Krystal Shipley of San Diego, Michelle Hartley of Lakewood, Colorado and Austin (Sami) Hartley of Boulder, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Brock Murphy of Grand Junction, Colorado and Reannon (Brandon) Baumgartner of Little Elm, Texas.Josie loved her family, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. That made it natural for her to be a special grandma. Her life will remain a lasting inspiration to her loved ones and friends.A private Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, September 17, 2020. The service will be streamed live.
