It was always a pleasure to see Brigetta. Her optimism and cheerfulness were contagious and we could always share a laugh. Because of her international upbringing, she was a wealth of history and information. One time a neighbor gave our boys a teddy bear that played a German lullaby. It was a sweet tune but we had no idea what the words were. I took it to church for Brigetta to hear and see if she could "interpret ." As soon as she heard the tune she lit up and started humming along. ( She was always ready for a song!) and she gave the gist of the lullaby. I just loved her. I remember her heels and her smile and I look forward to seeing her again in the presence of Jesus.

Oh Birgitta, the Lord has answered our prayers, you are free from pain and you are with the Lord Jesus which is far better. We grieve not as those who have no hope and look forward to seeing you in a coming day when we will be reunited on the heavenly shores. We were blessed to know Birgitta at the Central Bible Chapel in Palisades Park NJ. I had the privileged of baptizing her on October 6, 2013, as Birgitta had previously prayed with my mother (Carole,) by the piano, to receive the Lord Jesus as her Lord and Savior. In her testimony written for her baptism she reflected on her childhood and her near death experience during World War II in Germany. She wrote, "one night we could not get to the shelter, only to find out the next day that it was completely destroyed… no one was alive." Birgitta always had a positive outlook on life, despite her pain and was always grateful for the love and concern of God's people. The most wonderful memory we have of her is one Christmas she stood in front of the Church an sang Silent Night in German, "Stile Nacht, heilige Nacht, Alles schläft; einsam wacht." When she moved to Colorado she was well received by the little church in Colorado Springs and was loved, but always said she missed the ‘coziness' of the Palisades Park assembly. Brigitta we love you and miss you and we will see you soon. Stephen Swaim
