Obituary of Mary Lee Joan Hager

Mary Lee Joan Hager, 82, died October 28, 2020 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.�She was born July 5, 1938 in Denver, Colorado, to Guido and Angie Joan (Romano) Marchetti. Mary Lee lived the rest of her life in Colorado Springs, where she was raised by Angie and Bob Garriott.�She graduated in 1956 from Colorado Springs High School.�Mary Lee was a talented career optician and she truly loved her work.�Her flair for color and style gave her the ability to help people look their best. She made many personal connections over the years.�Mary Lee was also a talented seamstress, painter and gardener. After she retired she took a lifetime dream trip to Italy, where she was able to explore her heritage. Mary Lee was an avid shopper, and loved attending holiday craft shows with Cyndy. She was an animal lover, especially devoted to all of her dogs to include Moose and Cracker. Cracker shared her room at an assisted living facility and loved every minute of it, especially the food. Mary Lee was very proud of Cyndy and Mark and their accomplishments in life, and enjoyed talking about the beautiful custom homes Mark built and Cyndy's dedication to helping people through counseling. She enjoyed her family time, and hosted many holiday dinners. Thanksgiving was her favorite, happily feeding large groups of family members. Mary Lee thoroughly enjoyed her�weekly lunches with lifelong friend Mary Gean Ivy, and her evening glass of wine while watching the news. �Mary Lee was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert Rutt and Jerry Hager; and by her parents, Guido Marchetti, and Angie & Robert Garriott.�Mary Lee is survived by her daughter, Cyndy (Terry) Jones; son, Mark (Sandee) Rutt; grandchildren, Justin (Anna) Rutt, Nicolette (Tyler) Linneman, Noah Jones (Shaylynn Roberts); great-grandson, Decklan Rutt; sisters, Virginia Biggie, Pamela Zimmerman (Jeffry Duba); brother, Robert Garriott; stepdaughters, Jerice Stowe, Jan (Mike) Markham; and stepsons, Craig (Lisa) Hager, Chris (Vicky) Hager, Clark (Monica) Hager.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Sunrise University Park Assisted Living for their dedicated and loving care of our mom. We are also appreciative of the workers at Sunny Vista Living Center and Bridges Hospice.�Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Saturday, November 7, 2020, The Springs Funeral Services - North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923. The service will be streamed live.
