Several years ago a group of us from St Paul's took a trip to Branson to take in the Christmas shows. I was fortunate to sit next to Billy Jo on our chartered bus from KC to Branson. She was such a delight regaling me with tales of her life from Missouri as a child to Colorado Springs and points in between. Billy Jo was a treasure- a lady with spirit and spunk.

Penelope, my husband, Tommy, and I belong to the same church, which is where we met. One Sunday Penelope brought her mother, Billy Jo, to our Sunday church service. I could tell she ran things in her world and I liked her immediately. I noted she had much pride in her appearance; her hair, her nail and everything about her said I am a lady and command respect. I know her family will miss Billy Jo.

I use to go over and help Billy with her flower garden she had a beautiful garden. Her roses were her pride and joy she loved being out in the garden. I will miss her dearly she was like a grandma to me.
