Obituary of Sheila Rae Payton

Sheila Rae Payton, 65, died November 27, 2020 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Born on November 22, 1955 in Great Bend, Kansas to Leo Thomas and Marianna (Janitell) Bendon, she was the youngest of three daughters. The family moved from Kansas to Colorado in 1956. She graduated from Fountain High School in 1974. There she met her husband Curtis "Curt" Payton and married in 1978.Her career was in Banking, mortgage lending and real estate. After moving to Phoenix, Arizona for a short time, they moved back to Colorado and started a Land Survey Business. She successfully managed this business for thirty years. Her business passion was to be very professional in all aspects.Sheila was always thinking of others. We will miss her laugh (very distinctive) and how she was always with a smile. She was a loyal wife, mother, and friend. She had a striking beauty about her and always a positive attitude.Survived by her husband of forty-two years, Curt; two children, Ryan (Amy) Payton, Krista Payton; and four grandchildren.She will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten. Sheila will truly be missed.
