To all the family: It's been years since I worked at Broadmoor/with Rodney. Bubba was a friend and a wonderful colleague. The kind of person who brightens your day every time you see them. I'm truly sorry he's passed on but I hope you know....he is not forgotten. Ever. Much love always. Josh.

This message was shared with all at The Broadmoor who considered Bubba family: There are no words to express the sadness that surrounds this message, as we process the loss of another one of our Broadmoor Family, Rodney "Bubba" Babas. Our Bubba joined Security in April of 1988. He was a "jack of all trades" and never met a stranger, seemingly mastering the art of knowing everyone, as they had been a friend forever. He joined Banquets after Security, and most recently was a member of our Garage/Wilderness driving crew. Bubba raised his children while working at The Broadmoor and met his wife, Tara at the Front Desk. His oldest Son, sweet Randy Babas carries on the tradition of his legacy as Basecamp Supervisor, with a passion for fishing and the great outdoors, just like his Papa. Bubba was taken from us far too soon at 61, losing his battle, due to complications surrounding a weakened heart. One can only stop and think that a heart SO big, simply becomes tired after giving so unselfishly to others, Family, Friends, Team and Guests alike.... As we all grieve this devastating loss, we will remember to keep Bubba‘s family in our thoughts, prayers, and close at heart as they navigate these difficult times. Each one of our memories of Bubba, his smile, sense of humor and loving spirit are very personal to each of us, but collectively, we know The Broadmoor lost a little bit of it's heart with Bubba's passing. With much love and respect, Ann Alba

Dad, A Daughters first love and thats Definitely what you are! You will forever be missed! You were a man of few words but had the BIGGEST heart of anyone I have ever known! You rocked the Role of Father so well, but we all know Grandpa was your favorite title of all =) I will forever cherish you purchasing clothes that Hayden won't fit for at Least five years, in your words "He will grow in to them" and you are absolutely right Dad those clothes will have such a special meaning now. His first fishing trip with you will always be impounded in my head, the way he ran to you when that fish flopped on the ground and he jumped in your arms for protection knowing he was safe. It is such a Blessing and an honor that he shares a birthday with you!!! You will forever be his Papa he adored you and He will Always know of you and how muched you love Him. I loved how I could walk into a room and say "Daddy" and your response would always be "whatcha want now" I will forever Cherish being your little Girl no matter my age.I am going to miss texting you and requesting what I was hungry for, You were an amazing cook! Im going to miss hacking your FB with "Nichole is my Favorite child" I will never forget the night we were eating Chinese Buffet and you said "let's go to vegas and surprise my sister" We loaded up and drove to vegas Spur of the moment with our clothes packed in Wal mart bags!! I will never forget my older brother Randy calling you guys while you were on vacation in NY, and telling you and Tara that I was about to get arrested and your response was "oh well shes going to have to stay there all weekend" When Deep down I knew you wouldn't let that happen (She was never arrested by the way) I was about 4 or so when I reversed your car out of the driveway and into the street and I recall you darting out the house and leaping into the car to put it in park before any damage was done to Grandmas Fence. Jamming out to M C Hammers Too legit to Quit every time we went somewhere. I will remember to enjoy that cherry slurpee you often requested or a grape cream slush from Sonic. I will make sure Tara keeps Ice stocked in the freezer, it's the little things I will miss and hold dear to my heart the most. It melted my heart the way you would rub your eyes to hold back from crying, you were always such a big ol softie A true definition of a man with the Biggest heart and warmest hugs, you never knew a stranger thats for sure!! I will never forget our many fishing trips we could sit there in silence for hours but still bond. You were always the first to bait your hook and cast your pole out and you would always do it with that cheesy grin. Growing up you would ALWAYS snag the fish and let us kids reel it in I now Know it was for your enjoyment and the pure excitement it brought to us kids reeling in the"biggest" fish in the lake. Camping will never be the same but I promise we will do it more often I might even rock fish just for you =) I am glad I got to hear you say "I love you baby" one last time it brought peace to my heart!! I love you Daddy and I will Forever be your Little girl!! You will Forever Be missed!!!

I met Bubba when I joined the security team at The Broadmoor Hotel many years ago! He was one of my supervisors along with Kirk and Andy. We were a strong team. He was a man of few words, but boy was he funny! I remember when he left security to join the banquet team everyone thought he was going to spy on them lol. It was an honor to call him my friend. I will dearly miss him. My prayers to his family. Sincerely, Kaycee Gomez

I have so many memories of Bubba. I first met Bubba in 1994 when I started working at the Broadmoor Hotel in the Security Department. Bubba was a not only a dedicated employee, funny (actually hilarious), generous, and probably the most popular and respected person at the Hotel. But most of all Bubba was a GOOD FRIEND. I'll never forget all my memories of my friend Bubba and will cherish each memory of Bubba until we meet again. I worked with Bubba twenty six years and he was one of the highlights of those years. Bubba, you are a good ole boy and I miss you very much already. Rest In Peace my friend and I'll see you on down the road. Randy, you are also very special like Bubba which proves "an apple doesn't fall far from the tree." God bless all the family.
