Obituary of Charles Tom Shilling, Sr.

Charles Tom Shilling, Sr., 71, died December 10, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.He was born March 1, 1949 in South Charleston, West Virginia to Earl and Kathleen (Burkhalter) Shilling.Charles was a tree cutter in the logging industry and later became a heavy equipment operator. He was also a part of The International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 9 out of Pueblo, Colorado. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served two tours in Vietnam, leaving as a Sergeant along with the military awards: Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Metal, EX Badge and Rifle Bar.Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lea Shilling; daughter, Tina Shilling; brother, Eddie Shilling; sister, Betty Faulk; and his parents.He is survived by his son, Charles Shilling, Jr.; grandsons, Thomas Burton Shilling (girlfriend, Ashley Mahurin), Christian Tyler (Megan) Shilling, James Thomas Shilling (fianc�e, Jadyn Seeberger); great-grandson, Jaxson James Shilling; sisters, Nancy Shilling-Enger, Mary Searls; and brother, Timmy Shilling.Visitation, 10:30AM, Monday, December 21, 2020, Living Word Community Church, 532 Colorado Avenue, Calhan, Colorado 80808.Funeral Service, 11:00AM, Monday, December 21, 2020, Living Word Community Church, 532 Colorado Avenue, Calhan, Colorado 80808.Interment, Calhan Memorial Cemetery, Calhan, Colorado 80808.
