Obituary of Jerry Garland Hall
Jerry Garland Hall, 79, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, entered Heaven's gates on December 12, 2020.Born in Farmersburg, Indiana on March 24, 1941 to Mary Higbie Hall and Emmett Lavern Hall, Jerry graduated from North Central High School in Farmersburg, Indiana in 1959, lettering in basketball. There, he met and married his high school sweetheart, Linda Crowder Hall, in 1961. Following high school, he attended Indiana State University, as well as an apprenticeship for General Motors.Jerry was employed for forty-two years as a die-maker for General Motors Truck and Bus in Indianapolis, Indiana, receiving many awards for his cost-savings implementations. He later worked as a traveling metal-savings consultant for MMS, located in Detroit, Michigan. He then co-founded Hall Homes Construction, constructing residential homes in Indiana.Jerry has always been an active member of The Church of Christ, where he originally attended in Farmersburg, Indiana as a child. He worshiped many years at Mooresville Church of Christ and Plainfield Church of Christ, both in Indiana. More recently, he worshiped at the Northside Church of Christ in Colorado Springs. Jerry was always a faithful Christian, served as a deacon, and participated for many years as a counselor and mentor to many children who attended Florida College Christian Camps. He taught many church classes to both young and old, and even preached on several occasions. His personal Bible will surely be a cherished family heirloom, with all of his personal notes after many years of studying.Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was always very physically active, even playing basketball until age 66, when a stroke slowed him down. He was an avid IU basketball fan. His recent diagnosis of COVID ultimately took his life. Preceding him in death are his parents, Mary and Lavern Hall; sister, Carole Hall Sargent; and brother, Charles Hall. Those left behind to cherish the incredible memory of Jerry include his wife, Linda Hall of the home; daughter, Jodi Hall (Ken) Rosenzweig of Little Rock, Arkansas; son, David Hall of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Stacie (Bill) Rudow of Zionsville, Indiana; and son, Ryan (Kristin) Hall of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Evan Rosenzweig, Ethan Rosenzweig, Madalyn Rosenzweig, Samra Shay Hall Everett, Austin Hall, Hannah Hall, Noah Wenck, Ava Wenck, Gracie Hall, Mckenzie Hall, and Aspen Hall; and great-grandchildren, Harlow Toole, Canyon Piper, Bella Hall, and Maverick Hall. Memorial Services are pending at this time, but a burial is planned at Westlawn Cemetery, 11065 US-41 Farmersburg, Indiana 47850.
