Obituary of Pasikasia Kaburente

For many, mothers, wives, and far most importantly grandmothers play a huge important role in life. They provide a certain amount of love and care that nourishes warmth to the heart. Today we will be celebrating the long and fulfilling life of a sister, mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Pasikasia Kaburente, who on December 12, 2020, embarked on a peaceful journey with the Lord during her stay at Memorial Hospital after many months of suffering accompanied by illness. Pasikasia was born on January 1, 1939 in her hometown in Africa. During her time here, she bewedded her loving husband, Petero Rurakuba, giving birth to many sons and daughters, including Noheri Manirakiza, Mando Ndereyimana, Magnus Ndayishimiye, Oddila Hatungimana, Bernadette Ntihebuwayo, and Imelda Niyibizi. In 2008, Pasikasia moved to the United States. Due to illness sadly, Pasikasia was unable to attain work and therefore, spent most of her time watching and raising her grandchildren. Nothing on this Earth brought her as much warmth and happiness than being with her grandchildren. Pasikasia always said that her grandchildren were her biggest blessing. Whenever her grandchildren came to visit, she always welcomed them with open arms and the biggest smile. I vividly will always have and carry the memory of the times that grandma sang and danced her favorite tunes. Pasikasia's voice, her touch, and as well as her presence were and always will be the meaning of love. No matter who you were, Pasikasia always approached any and every one out of a place filled with a tender and home-felt heart. Growing up, Pasikasia loved and worshiped the Lord. She grew up in a home that knew and praised the Lord. Not only did she grow up in a home who knew Christ, when she began a family of her own with her husband, Petero Rurakuba, they raised a well-loved home that continued to worship the Lord. In times of weakness and suffering, as well as happiness, Pasikasia always called onto the Heavenly Father. Every Sunday, after Pasikasia moved to the United States, she attended service at St Joseph Catholic Church. Not only did she have service at church, Pasikasia also held her own service here at home. There are times where I remember coming over and I would find grandma praying and worshiping. During her service, she always prayed that each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren lived a long and happy life protected and guided by the Lord. Pasikasia was not only a loving wife, through her battle, she was a strong and hardworking individual. In times of pain, Pasikasia always held a smile. It is with pain that she is no longer with us today, but she will always remain in each and every one of our hearts. Through her laughs, her kisses, and her stories, Pasikasia will forever be remembered. As much as we will miss Pasikasia Kaburente, it is said unto us that "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; and no one will snatch them out of my hand." - John 10:28A private Visitation will be held from 4:00PM-6:00PM, Monday, December 21, 2020.
