Obituary of Dayna Jeanne Carnival

I departed this delightful and adventurous life after an unexpected and "short battle" with ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease.I hope my friends (four-legged too) and family are celebrating my life because it truly was a wonderful journey.I grew up in California, going to college before becoming a flight attendant with American Airlines. I was living in Manhattan Beach, California when I met and married my husband, Don Carnival. We shared a passion for our beach community and surfing in those early years of our life.We had two wonderful sons, Shane and Brett, before relocating to Arizona. I returned to the airline industry again as a flight attendant in the 80's and then moved on to International Airline Sales Management. In 1989 I relocated to Denver, Colorado and finally retired from the airline industry in 2002. I had settled in Palmer Lake, Colorado in 1996 and lived an adventurous life there till the present time.Colorado mountains is where I found my passion for running, hiking, biking and kayaking. I also realized my dream career and established a Bed & Biscuit in 2002 which I passionately enjoyed till the present. Everyday was a "dance with the dogs and kitties at the Bed & Biscuit"!I also had a passion for my volunteer work with Safe Place and the Pikes Peak Humane Society. My sister, Wendy, and I traveled the world, loving everywhere, including fond memories when traveling through the Cook Islands and RV'ing through New Zealand. Another time, we stayed in an Eco Tourism tree house on the beach in St. John, Virgin Islands before sailing on a Windjammer cruise for two weeks. I was always propelled by natural curiosity.I am preceded in death by Don, my former husband; my dear Mother and Father; and brother, Neil.I say goodbye to my sons, Shane and Brett; my brother, Scott; my sisters, Susan and Wendy; my grandchildren, Amanda and Bryce; daughter-in-law, Tricia; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Nina, Sue and Jeff; lots of nieces, nephews and cousins; and especially my niece and nephew in Monument, Colorado, Ilhan and Ameena. In addition, I leave behind my precious dog, Blue, who taught me so much about patience and compassion; and cats, Sterling Silver Star and Soda Pop who my son, Brett, has adopted.Memorial contributions in Dayna's memory may be made to Dayna's preferred charities: Best Friends Animal Society in Utah, Safe Place for Pets in Colorado Springs, Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region - Colorado Springs, Paws & Hooves, or the ALS organization.A private family beach service will be held in Manhattan Beach, California at a later date.
