Obituary of Marion Louise Hall-Marshall
Marion Louise Hall-Marshall, 81, of Newbury Park, California passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 in Colorado Springs, Colorado of natural causes.She was born on February 20, 1939 to John DuPriest, Sr. and Marion Louise Hall in Kansas City, Kansas.Marion graduated with honors from University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor's degree in Education. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. She later earned a Master's degree in Counseling & Guidance from California Lutheran University and a Master's degree in Hypnotherapy from The Hypnosis Motivation Institute.She married Donald Edgar Hirlinger in 1962 and they had two daughters, Margaret Hirlinger Douglass and Kathryn Louise Walters. In 1977, she married the love of her life, Robert Leland Marshall, who was with her at her passing. Marion was a dedicated educator. She was proud to have been a middle school teacher, and retired from Conejo Valley Unified School District in California. She taught ceramics through Learning Tree University, using her own kiln to make the class possible.Among her hobbies were traveling, flying airplanes, scuba diving, gardening, ceramics, and volunteering. Her passion for volunteering led her to serve with EF Foundation for Foreign Studies hosting, and later coordinating student exchange experiences as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and with Rotary Club International. She was a member of American Association of University Women.Marion is survived by beloved husband, Robert Leland Marshall; daughters, Margaret and Kate; and stepchildren, Jason Robert Marshall and Andrea Dee Bailey; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; along with her brother, John DuPriest Hall, Jr.In light of Covid-19 issues, there will be a Celebration of Marion's Life on Saturday, May 22, 2021, details to come.
