Rita is one of the strongest women I've known, and I have always admired her deep love, her sense of responsibility and her grace... and that strength and grace I know will live on as a legacy in her children, family, friends....all of the people who were important to her. She will never leave us.

Rita was such an amazing person that can light up any room she walked into. She was brilliant technically but had the wonderful ability to connect with people as well. No matter how bad it got at work, she was always able to lift my spirits. Some of my best memories working on that project was going out for dinner or hanging out with Rita and Wayne. We send our deepest condolences and all our love to Wayne, Brendon, and the rest of her family.

I will truly miss you, my dear friend. So many fun memories we have together that I will cherish forever. The games on "Thursday Night Bocce", where we mostly sat and talked and drank wine out of our water bottles. Our British tea date was so lovely! We know for sure you are in a much better place and out of your pain, that is our saving grace with not having you here. The angels are singing now that you are with them. Our love to Wayne, Brendon and your extended family, I know you're watching over them!! Until we meet again, my friend....❤️

When Rita slipped away from us the skies opened and heaven celebrated a very special angel who will forever live in our hearts. Our life is fuller for having shared it with our beautiful, sweet Rita. Rita will be surrounding us with great love and memories. Allow her love that surrounds us help with the loss and sorrow you feel in your heart. It will be a long recovery for our loss, but time will warm our hearts as we remember and remines over the love and fond memories we have shared. The imprint she left in our lives will live on forever. We are here for you and your family, now and forever.

Rita was one of my mentors when I was a baby airman. She was a friend who took me like a baby sister. She was always a ray of sunshine and knew what to say when I was feeling down. She was one of a few who helped me make the transition to military life! I will always have our memories big sis! Til we meet again.

I was one of the blessed ones to have had Rita as my last lead when I retired from Lockheed. She was such a warm and motivated woman. She was so talented, not only in her work assignments, but she knew how to be a leader and mentor. I knew in the short time that I reported to her that her family was so important to her. I will always hold her in my heart as a very special woman who I knew was special.

Rita was one of the most genuinely kind souls I have ever met. I got to work with her twice after I had met her previously through a mutual friend. We were hoping to catch up with her and Wayne after this pandemic and watch some live music. We are very sad to hear of her passing and want Wayne and her family to know they are in our thoughts and prayers.

Rita was one of the most sincere and kind people who have walked this life. She was my work mom I could always count on and confide in for guidance with any part of life. "Work mom" was also known as "home-slice" and so she'd call me "lunch-box". I would sneak into her office just to talk about life and to check up on how she was doing, great times that will be sorely missed. She gave me a great opportunity to grow my career and I wish we could've had another bday/Christmas party where Wayne can make me cry with his hot sauces. She will be greatly missed and gone much too soon. My love and prayers are with Wayne and the family. Lunch-Box

Rita was always full of life, laughter, and fun! She was a joy to be near during our neighborhood summer outings in the back yard, block parties, and in our homes. I loved seeing her chatting with friends, letting loose in our little friendly competition games, and in helping the team almost win it all in bocce ball tournaments in Denver. Thanks for always being such a good friend and person, Rita. The neighborhood gang will miss you dearly, but we'll always remember the happiness you brought to each of us. Much love and deepest condolences to Wayne and her family and friends. Lucas Montoya

Rita is a beautiful soul. I first met her after moving to Colorado Springs, our kids practically grew up together. We had many great adventures and fondly remember them all. I am so glad we got to reconnect after so many years and was looking forward to spending more time after the pandemic. She was a kind soul and a beautiful person inside and out with a light that shined bright. She will forever be in my heart. Rest easy my friend.

I got to work with Rita for a short time on the S2E2 program. This was a red program over budget and behind schedule so a lot of stress and chaos in a generally unpleasant environment. Despite the circumstances Rita maintained a positive attitude and was genuinely easy to work with and comforting to know. I truly enjoyed the time I got to spend with her and my thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends. Jeff Chadwick
