Rita was such an amazing person that can light up any room she walked into. She was brilliant technically but had the wonderful ability to connect with people as well. Rita was one of the most sincere and kind people who have walked this life. She was my work mom I could always count on and confide in for guidance with any part of life. "Work mom" was also known as "home-slice" and so she'd call me "lunch-box". I would sneak into her office just to talk about life and to check up on how she was doing, great times that will be sorely missed. She gave me a great opportunity to grow my career and I wish we could've had another bday/Christmas party where Wayne can make me cry with his hot sauces. Rita was always full of life, laughter, and fun! She was a joy to be near during our neighborhood summer outings in the back yard, block parties, and in our homes. I loved seeing her chatting with friends, letting loose in our little friendly competition games, and in helping the team almost win it all in bocce ball tournaments in Denver. Rita is a beautiful soul. I first met her after moving to Colorado Springs, our kids practically grew up together. We had many great adventures and fondly remember them all. I am so glad we got to reconnect after so many years and was looking forward to spending more time after the pandemic. I got to work with Rita for a short time on the S2E2 program. This was a red program over budget and behind schedule so a lot of stress and chaos in a generally unpleasant environment. Despite the circumstances Rita maintained a positive attitude and was genuinely easy to work with and comforting to know.
