Obituary
Obituary of Judith Anne McPeak Bullock
Judy Bullock, 64, of Colorado Springs passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2021. Judy was very happy to be returning home to her Lord and had expressed this to the close friends and caregivers that were there at her side that evening.Judy was born in Raymond, Washington to Betty and Roger McPeak. At her birth, Cerebral Palsy (CP) became a major part of Judy's life and she spent her life's energy growing and accomplishing much despite the restrictions and pain this condition imposed. Judy was certain that God was the source of the great strength that she always exhibited. In her early years, Judy worked for her family in their meat market and then as the bookkeeper for the family grocery store in Alaska. In 1981, Judy relocated to Colorado and in 1984, she married James William "Bill" Bullock. Judy and Bill enjoyed twenty-one years together skiing, swimming, and traveling. In 1990, Judy trained to climb Pikes Peak and she completed this arduous trek on July 14, 1990 (an exceptional feat for one with CP). In business, she and Bill worked together administering FAA exams to pilots and doing in-flight thunderstorm data collection with Bill piloting the plane and Judy providing ground support.Judy triumphed over many life trials. She suffered the deaths of her mother followed by the death of her husband within three months in 2005. She then moved seven times in seven years in search of a safer home environment. Finally, in 2012, Judy found her forever home' in her beautiful single-level cottage, where she exercised her tasteful decorating talent and enjoyed her two calico kitties, Oni and Kiki.Judy was amazingly independent and was an ever-positive fighter. When an issue was before her, she made plans, developed strategies, and worked hard to address the issue. In the last years of her life, she developed and maintained her caregiver schedule as well as her exercise schedule (required for a person with CP to continue to be able to move). Judy's caregivers, along with her long-term friends, were there to love and care for her and, in turn, they were blessed with Judy's love and care. We all very much miss our Judy' and the strength and warmth that she always projected.Memorial Service, 2:00PM, Thursday, March 4, 2021, First Presbyterian Church, 219 East Bijou Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
