Obituary of Evelyn Bowers Closson

Loving wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother. Evelyn Bowers Closson was born November 22, 1923 in College Park, Maryland. She died January 11, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Evelyn was an airline stewardess when she met Charlie Closson, a hotel manager, in Dallas, Texas. They were married in 1947 and started a family. Together they raised four children and remained together until Charlie's passing in 1994. For many years, Evelyn was an active member of Grace Church Altar Guild, Rotary Club, Assistance League, The Ecumenical League Thrift Store, and many other service organizations. She was always ready to help, and the first to volunteer her time for others. She is survived by her son, Alec Closson and wife, Debi; daughter, Nina Closson; son, Charlie Closson; and son, Peter Closson and wife, Stephane. Also, she had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. All loved her dearly. Evelyn was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Anne Bowers; and her brother, Melville Bowers. She will be missed. We were lucky to have such a wonderful, loving mother.
