Obituary of Carolyn Sue Jessen

Carolyn Sue Jessen, 70, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away January 21, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born October 18, 1950 to Robert and Helen King in Moline, Illinois. Carolyn went to high school at Rock Island Senior High School and graduated in 1968. She went on to earn a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Eastern Iowa Community College.Carolyn worked as a Hospital and Office Nurse, and as a nanny in the Quad Cities for twenty-five years. She enjoyed growing flowers, antiquing, and traveling. She was known for her passion to rescue and adopt unwanted big black dogs. Carolyn and her beloved, Holly, will be fondly remembered by us all. She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen King; and father, Robert King.Carolyn is survived by her sister, Barbara Dorsey of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nephew, Sean Dorsey, and his family, Jimmie, Addison and Hayden, all of Colorado Springs.Memorial contributions in Carolyn's memory may be made to King's Harvest Pet Rescue, 2504 West Central Park Avenue, Davenport, Iowa, 52804.The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, and staff who lovingly cared for Carolyn.Burial will be held in Prophetstown, Illinois.
