Obituary of Deanna Lee Atler

Deanna L. Atler passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary A. Atler. Deanna was born September 29, 1941 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Wanda Gulick and Albert David. On July 28, 1960 Deanna married the love of her life, Gary Atler, at St. Mary's Cathedral here in Colorado Springs.She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. Deanna was dedicated to her family and helped care for her grandchildren as they were growing up. She loved to read and sew and was always learning a new craft. Deanna was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for over fifty years. She cherished the friendships she made and truly loved all her sisters in Beta Sigma Phi.Deanna is survived by her son, Gary (Karen) Atler; daughter, Kelly (Doug) Higgins; six grandchildren, Ryan, Nikki, and Lauren Higgins, Jason and Ryan Grade, and Sarah (Ryan) Brown; two great-grandchildren, Kyler and Adalyn Brown; sister-in-law, June (John) Mellman; and cousins, Larry (Linda) and Gary (Sally) McDaniel.Deanna was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be greatly missed!Graveside Service, 11:00AM, Wednesday, July 28, 2021, Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
