Obituary of Blanche Priscilla Fallander
Blanche Priscilla (Coffin) Fallander, 90, died February 2, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was a sweet and quiet soul and died very peacefully after struggling with breathing issues (non-Covid). Both her children were at her side during her battle in the last days.Blanche was born June 12, 1930 in Peabody, Massachusetts to Earle Dingwell and Mae Ellen (Putnam) Coffin. She lived in Massachusetts during her childhood and moved to Denver, Colorado with her husband where they settled and had their two children. She worked as a receptionist for an off-duty road equipment company once her children were older. She then returned to Massachusetts in 1982 to live with her mother during the summers and in Sarasota, Florida during the winters. In 2001, Blanche moved from Florida to Colorado Springs where she could be closer to her children and their families.Blanche loved the Lord and spent many hours reading the Bible and studying scripture. She worked hard to take good care of herself and was always kind and gentle in her treatment of others. In later life, Blanche's best friend was her husband's second wife, Donna Fallander. They enjoyed a wonderful relationship, sharing many meals, chocolate sundaes and long conversations with each other. Many times on the phone, if Blanche was feeling anxious or was having trouble falling asleep, their conversation would end with Donna's very effective recommendation, "Just take two Tylenol!"Blanche is survived by her son, Dean Earle Fallander and his four children, Matthew, Michael, Hailey and Sophia; her daughter, Cheryl Ellen Nygaard and her two children, Ken (Kathryn) Nygaard and Marcia (Konnor) Erdman. She is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Richard Nygaard, Jr.; and grandson, Keith Nygaard. There will be a family memorial service for Blanche in Massachusetts in the fall of 2021.
