Obituary of Sophia Josephine Aguilera

The afternoon of March 5, 2021, Sophia Josephine Aguilera, beautiful and dearly loved mother of two, grandmother of two, and great-grandmother of three, sadly passed at the age of 89. Sophia was born on March 30, 1931 in Rifle, Colorado to John M. Bruno and Elena Montoya. She was hard-working and devoted from youth. By the age of 23 she married Paul H. Aguilera and had their first son, Paul A. Aguilera. Twelve years later, they had their daughter, Adelita B. Aguilera. Sophia was full of love and generosity for those in need, and a caretaker for every one of God's gentle creatures. Everyone who saw her light holds a part of her now. She fought to navigate through adversity, and blessed the world with generations of her beautiful memories. She will be forever held closely in her family's hearts and always remembered fondly. Sophia is survived by her daughter, Adelita; her two grandchildren; and her three great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass celebrating Sophia's life will be held at 11:30AM, Monday, March 29, 2021, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2715 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.Inurnment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
