Obituary of Joan "Joni" Marie Cahn

Beloved wife, mother, and friend Joni Cahn passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 a few weeks after a wonderful 80th birthday celebration with friends and family. A tragic accident took her unexpectedly and well before any of us were ready as we believed she would outlive us all. Joni was born on March 6, 1941, to Herman and Mabel Eck as the youngest of sixteen children raised on a beautiful farm in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania. She married Stanley "Skip" Cahn on September 9, 1961, to become a military and country musician's wife. Skip tells everyone he didn't deserve Joni and the many blessings she gave to our family through almost sixty years of marriage. Joni is fondly remembered and well loved by her husband and three sons through her fierce sense of family loyalty, faith in God, passionate spirit and energy, and the unconditional support she provided. Joni is survived by her husband; seven of her siblings, Margaret, Alfred, Jane, Mary-Ann, Richard, Edward, Shirley; and three sons, Richard, Robert, and Kevin. Her son Richard gave her two grandchildren, Rachel and Thomas. Robert and his wife Stacey, and previous wife, Julie, gave her six grandchildren, Cameron (his wife Lauren and one great grandchild, Deacon), Tyler, Abby (her husband-to-be, Cameron), Courtney (her husband, Joseph), Brock, and Brayden. Kevin and his wife Charlotte and previous wife, Michelle, gave her three grandchildren, Shane, Katie (her husband, Ben), and Evan.Throughout her life Joni was giving, compassionate, and the foundation of her immediate and extended family. She took great pride in teasing her grandchildren and enjoying every moment she could playing games and spending quality time with family and friends. Joni and Skip enjoyed traveling with Pikes Peak RV's for twenty-two years and tailgating with the Air Force Academy Class of 1960. Joni's work life started after high school graduation at Grit Publishing in Williamsport, later she become a Bakery Manager and master cake decorator at Albertsons Super Market for twenty years where she was selected number one several times in Colorado and once Nationally. After retiring from Albertsons she was a representative with Loral Cosmetics for ten years.
