I had the pleasure of meeting Kit in 1997 when my father, Ramon Gascon, and I took an Amtrak trip and stopped to meet the family. He and Pauline were so gracious. My deepest condolences to all who loved him. May he Rest In Peace and may perpetual light shine upon him.

I remember Kit as a jokester. He was also a huge help to my mother Marguerite in traveling across country to be with her after my father's sudden death in South Carolina. He also helped her tote our few belongings during a move to California from Colorado via a small trailer. He was very helpful to my grandparents in their old age and would shovel snow for them at their home. One of the last times I visited in La Junta, Kit had tears in his eyes as he hugged me. This tough man had a tender heart. He will be long remembered. by Carol Phelps Simmons

I first met my Dear cousin Kit in 1943 when My Mother, Kit's father Sister and my sister María de la Luz and I made the trip to see and meet the López Cousins that were scattered in La Junta, Co, Denver, Co and Vallejo, CA and I was impressed with Kit and Paul with their " Custom Cars" of those days with special mounting to the set of mirrors but my bodies were Matt and Cosme, more my age that Kit and were lucky to see him and to meet Pauline, his wife in 1997 when My Daughter Sandi and I made a trip for her to meet as many as possible and I remember that when we got off the train in L J, that there was nobody waiting for us, Suddenly, A lady approached me and asked if I was Ramon and I said; Yes! she introduced as my Cousin Pauline and said that Kit was inside the station inquiring if we were on board, He thought that I was an Anglo when we got off the train and not a Mexican, Typical misconception of the Mexcian stereotyped in the movies, But after that, The Gringo and Kit were just like in the Old days, we were later reunited wit Matt and Cousin Richard that had come from Denver with his wife to see us. Kit took us to the La Junta Airfield to see the 4th. of July fireworks that, in the end, were cancelled due to strong winds, We met again in 2009 for the services of cousin Marguerite. Adios Primo, Descansa en Paz.
