Derrick McKay Batton, 58, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away April 19, 2021.He was born March 13, 1963 to Dorothy and Frank Miller in New Jersey.Derrick went to high school at Hawkinsville High School and graduated in 1981.He worked as a Technical Sergeant for the United States Air Force for twenty years. He later on received a Bachelor's Degree.Derrick enjoyed watching sports, mainly basketball and football. He enjoyed playing sports games on his playstation, mostly football. Derrick liked watching any action or horror/sci-fi movies - his favorite genre. He liked to listen to music to relax and had a contagious laugh. He is loved and will be missed by many.He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Batton; and brothers, Clydon Bazzey and Danny Batton.Derrick is survived by his daughters, Leah and Nichole Batton of Colorado Springs; mother, Dorothy; brother, Eddie Batton; sister-in-law, Deborah; and aunt, Honey.Visitation, 1:00PM-2:00PM, Funeral Service immediately following at 2:00PM, Thursday, April 29, 2021, Woodmen Road Free Will Baptist Church, 7465 Horseshoe Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.Inurnment at a later date, Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
