Obituary of Patricia Ann Ernster

Patricia Ann Ernster, 90, passed away April 24, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born December 27, 1930 in Davenport, Iowa to William John Britt and Madeline Elizabeth (Gillooly) Britt.After graduating from high school she worked at the Iowa Mutual Insurance Company, Security Life Insurance Company in Denver, Colorado, Civil Services in El Paso, Texas, and Colorado Springs, Colorado.Pat married Richard Ernster September 18, 1954 in Welton, Iowa. They lived in El Paso, Texas until Dick was discharged from the Air Force in 1956. At that time they came to Colorado Springs to make their home.She was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Richard Ernster; and sister, Jean Burke.Pat is survived by her three children, Kathy (Mark) O'Donnell of Monument, Colorado, Daniel Ernster, Michael Ernster of Colorado Springs; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Derek) Bantam of Nebraska, Mark (Ashley) O'Donnell and Sean (Leanna) O'Donnell of Colorado Springs; four great-grandchildren, Kevin and Tyler Bantam, Sloane and Reagan O'Donnell; and sister, Betty Lou Yellman.Pat enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, friend and volunteer. She was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Faith and Light Community and A.R.C Pikes Peak Region.Pat enjoyed the beauty of the Colorado mountains, especially Pikes Peak, fishing, playing cards, reading, travel and family gatherings.Visitation, 6:00PM-7:00PM, Rosary immediately following, 7:00PM, Friday, May 7, 2021, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.Attendees for the Visitation and Rosary will be capped at 100 people.
