Obituary of Ricky "Coco" Allen Bowlds
Ricky "Coco" Allen Bowlds, 73, ended his journey here on Earth on May 4, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.Coco was born in Marion Indiana to Josephine "Nanny" Greer and Charles William "Doc" Bowlds on April 27, 1948; and step-father, Richard Gordon, played an important role in his life. He is the eldest of eight brothers and half-sister.Coco was a lifelong biker, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He lived a colorful, unapologetic life that included his US Army service and art studio and frame shop business. Coco was well known in the community and had the ability to make a new friend with ease. He adored his children and grandchildren, loved to tell stories, share his past and he had a love of history and art. Coco was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine "Nanny" Gordon and Charles Bowlds; as well as two brothers, Larry Bowlds and Robin Bowlds.Coco is survived by his children, Ricki Lynn and Terry Shepard, Vanessa Bowlds and Vincent Lipscomb, Kris and Leslie Peters, Colleen and Jamie King, Channelle Southard, Alexis Jester, Marie-Claire "Mimi" Elliott and Jason Mamoa and adopted daughter Shell Marie Scott; sixteen beautiful grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; five brothers, Simmie Bowlds, Mr. and Mrs. Stan Bowlds, Jacob Bowlds, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Bowlds, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Bowlds; and a sister, Lexi Bowlds. A homegoing Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00PM, Sunday, May 16, 2021, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909. Following the celebration there will be a memorial and "last ride" at Memorial Park at the Pavilion located behind 7/11 at the corner of East Costilla and South Hancock.If you would like to donate to Coco's homegoing celebration fund, please visit gf.me/u/zsdsyq or contact Mimi Elliott.
