Lt Col Johnny Junior "JJ" Inman, USAF, (Ret.), 98, died May 7, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born August 11, 1922 near Concordia, Kansas to Wheeler and Elsie Myrtle (Smith) Inman. He attended grade school at Country school and later High school in Manhattan, Kansas. During his senior year he was an All-State football guard from which he suffered the rest of his life.JJ joined the United States Army Air Corps right after graduating high school and became a Fighter Pilot in World War II. He served under the command of General C.L. Chennault with the Flying Tigers in China. He married the love of his life, Marjory Nell Squires, soon after the end of WWII. They were married for almost seventy-four years. From this union two children were born. After serving his country for more than twenty-two years, JJ retired and went to work as a High School Teacher. He soon left teaching to serve in the United States Civil Service for fifteen years. JJ retired from the Civil Service in 1979. He then ran an elk, deer, antelope, bighorn sheep, duck, goose, pheasant, and fishing outfitting and guide service for over twelve years. In JJ's mind these activities were mild in comparison to his acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior in 1951. He often thanked the Lord for his wonderful children and grandchildren, many of whom are born again.JJ is preceded in death by his son, Johnny "Jay" Inman.
