Obituary of Doris Nell Chambers
Doris Nell Chambers, 80, died May 8, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.She was born in Fairfield, Alabama February 3, 1941 to Earl and Elgertha (Hall) McGhee. Doris was the youngest of six children, she had four brothers and one sister. She was a kind, loving, and caring mother, grandmother, and aunt, that was cherished by all her family and friends. Doris had a huge, giving heart and was always thoughtful of others. She was very assertive in helping others inside and outside the family. For example, she would feed people and give her last dollar to help anyone in need. That is a characteristic that was passed down to her children. In earlier years she worked as a nursing assistant helping others, a field that tied in perfectly with the caring, loving person she was.Doris enjoyed spending time at home, going on walks, enjoying nature, and watching movies. In her early years she was a very talented and beautiful dancer and singer, being the best in her high school. She passed on her musical and dancing talents to most of her children.Doris was a woman of Christian faith and was described as a beautiful, caring, and funny person. Her favorite scriptures were The Lord's Prayer (Mathew 6: 9-13); and Psalms 23.She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Elgertha McGhee; her four brothers; and sister.Doris is survived by her daughters, Kecia and Melody Chambers; and her sons, Jones "Lamas", Demetrius "Dee" Chambers, Vilfredo, Theolonious, and Jeff Chambers; as well as many nieces and nephews.Memorial Service, 10:00AM, Tuesday, May 18, 2021, The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909. Attendees will be capped at 100 people. Masks/facial coverings are required.
