Obituary of Steven Eugene Hicks, Jr.

This is the story of Steven "Steve" Eugene Hicks, Jr. Steven was an extraordinary man that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Steven E. Hicks, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home located in Colorado Springs, Colorado on May 12, 2021. He was born February 13, 1972 in Bozeman, Montana. Right after, he and his family moved to Michigan City, Indiana where he had not only the love of his family but he found his love for sports, music and eventually the love of his life, Joanna. Together, they started a new chapter with becoming married, becoming homeowners and eventually becoming proud of parents of two beautiful girls, Midori Salonia V. Hicks and Aadriana Akira A. Hicks. In 2006, at no fault of his own, he developed a rare condition called NeuroMyelitis Optica (NMO) or better known as Devic's Disease. Even though he developed NMO which some become weak from, he didn't let that stop him from still being the strongest fighter of the disease, even until the very end. He remained determined and still accomplished to be the dopest "Brotha Ina WheelChair". He was loved by many and he had many titles: Son, of which he was called by his mother, Marsha Bass and father, Stephen Hicks, Sr.; Grandson by the late great Viera May; Brother, of which he was called by Mike, Fred, Robert, Christina, Jodi, and Danielle; Husband, of which he was called by his loving wife, Joanna; Dad, of which he was called by his beautiful daughters, Midori and Aadriana; and Uncle, of which he was called by a slew of loving nieces and nephews, especially Demetri. This is one of the many quotes Steven Hicks lived by and it was one of which explains who he was as a person and what kind of legacy he left behind:"Live Life To Express, Not Impress."We Love You, We Will Miss You.Your Family Forever and Always.A message from the patriarch of the Hicks Family, Mr. Stephen E.
