Obituary of Colleen Ann Alexander

LOVELY, DEVOTED WIFEColleen Ann Alexander, age 64, passed peacefully into eternal life on May 28, 2021, six years after being diagnosed with ALS. Her husband, Burt, was at her bedside.She was born November 30, 1956 to Jayne and Paul Hartung, Sr., in Aberdeen, South Dakota where she spent her childhood.Upon graduating high school, she attended Wahpeton State College in North Dakota to study architectural concept and design. Later, she attended college in San Francisco, and finished her interior design degree in Colorado Springs.She moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to be near her parents and other family members. Colleen began a career in interior design working at Weburg's Furniture as a floor designer arranging store displays. She was highly creative constructing furniture design and clothing fashion styles. Her specialty was one-day interior design makeovers.In 1988, while working, she met and later married Burt Alexander on February 14, 1989, spending the last thirty-two years together.She is preceded in death by her parents, Jayne and Paul Hartung, Sr. Colleen is survived by her husband, Burt Alexander; stepsons, Paul and Brian Alexander; siblings, Susan Wehrung of Denver, Colorado, Paul Hartung, Jr. of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, James Hartung and Carolyn Kreider, both of Colorado Springs; as well as nieces, Sara Spring of Greenwood Village, Colorado, and Emily Kreider of Colorado Springs; and two nephews, Ryan Hartung of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Jamie Wehrung of Austin, Texas.Upon entering the gates of heaven, Colleen was met with open arms by her creator, and mother and father. Now she is home and now she is free.
