Very fond of our times spent with Bill and Joyce. Let these trees be a suitable reminder of our friendship.

Here are two pictures when I met Joyce in the past. The first one was taken at Dallas Airport in 1999, when Joyce together with Bill and little Liam brought me there before I flew back to Boston. It was my first stay in the USA, and the end of a roadtrip which I made with Thom who I left in Oklahoma City. I met nearly the whole Wright family that year :-) The second one is in front of our house in Todenmann / Rinteln, Germany in 1991. I guess it was her sole visit at the place where here children Geoff and Megan stayed each for one year with the Passarotto family as exchange students. A lot of nice memories from that time. You can also see my mum standing in the door. Joyce, it was always a great pleasure to meet you and all of your fantastic kids!!! Mario Passarotto

I first met Joyce on one of her many trips to JHQ, Germany. She was visiting her beautiful daughter Anja. Joyce always took the time to chat and listen. She was always interested in people and their culture. My family and I also had the pleasure of hosted Joyce and Bill for a week when we lived in Stirling, Scotland. They were there to research their family history. I remember cooking lasagna one evening and Joyce being mesmerised in my technique. She'd never seen someone make it without first cooking the lasagna sheets, I always put mine in straight out the packet dry. Once it was cooked her eyebrows lifted on tasting the dish and she told me she was going to cook it my way from now on - I'm not sure if she every did. We loved having her and Bill stay and listening to their daily adventures. They gifted us with a book of the US states and three miniature lead soldiers which we still treasure. We always planned to visit them both in the USA and had planned to visit just before covid shut down the planet. Joyce has a wonderful family and so many friends across the planet. We were all blessed to share some of her time. We all have very special memories of Joyce as she was a special soul. Thinking of her family and sending our love.
