Obituary of John Arthur Perea

John Arthur Perea, age 83, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away June 11, 2021 in Cripple Creek, Colorado. He was born January 20, 1938 to Albert and Virginia Perea in Center, Colorado. John was one of seven children. John graduated from Center High School in 1955. He served three years in the United States Marine Corps, where he earned the Good Conduct Award. John worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service for forty-four years. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, weightlifting, and working on cars. When he retired, he dedicated his time to his grandchildren, attending all school events and was the #1 cheerleader.�John always believed you give more than you take�and built a legacy around giving to others.He is survived in death by his wife, Patsy, who was the love of his life for sixty-one years of marriage; his children, Marty and Sue Perea, Sue and Thomas Salazar, Tessa and Stephen Courtney, and Mike Perea; his grandchildren, Joe Perea, Nicole Salazar, Jason Perea, Julia Manfredonia, Brandon Salazar, Tyler Perea, and Jessica Perea; great-grandchildren, Elena Perea, Isabella Perea, Isaac Perea, Brecken Gibbs, Mason Gibbs, Parker Haberer, and Delilah Manfredonia; one great-great-grandchild, Bryson; and his two siblings, David Perea and Nina Cordova. John had nicknames for every family member and loved them dearly.�Memorial contributions in John's memory can be made to Care and Share (careandshare.org/donate/).
