Obituary of Ellen C.N.M. Thomas

Born "Cocha Ann Nicholson" on November 18, 1937, Ellen Thomas passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the age of 83.� Ellen graduated from South High School in 1956 and went on to earn a BS in Microbiology from CSU where she met her former husband, Duane L. Moore. They married September 2, 1961.� Together they operated a construction business and a cattle ranch in Gunnison, Colorado until they divorced in the early 1980's. After that, she worked various jobs in various places until retiring at 75 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.�She was a sorority sister of Kappa Kappa Gamma and longtime member of St. George's Anglican Church.� Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Francis (Keener) Nicholson; Howard and Angie Keener; cousins, JR Keener, Joey Michael Keener, and Jamie Keener; former husband, Duane L. Moore; Mitch and Rosalie (Moore) Munis; nephew, Bill Munis; and former brother-in-law, John Evans.� Survivors include her daughter, Heide Moore Elsworth; son, Eric F. Moore and daughter-in-law, Deborah Hurd Moore; grandchildren, Sarah R. Anderson (husband, David), Rachel L. Williams, KoDee Browning (husband, Bobbie), Tylor Moore (wife, Shelby); and great-grandchildren, Ruth Anderson and Theodore Anderson, and Emery Browning and Everett Browning; her brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Jeanne Nicholson; nephews, Shane and Boe Nicholson; and extended family, including former sister-in-law, Betty (Moore) Evans and nieces and nephew, Mary (Evans) Lewallen, Alice (Evans) Wolters, Thomas Evans, Brenda (Evans) Miles and Julie (Evans) Kersting, and Betty Joanne (Munis) New. �Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Friday, June 25, 2021, St. George's Anglican Church, 217 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
