Obituary of Col Robert Thomas "Tom" Jobin, USAF,

Robert "Tom" Jobin passed away peacefully in Colorado Springs on July 2, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Tom was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 5, 1942 as the youngest son of Robert and Laura Jobin. As a very athletic youth, he played football and gymnastics for his high school and competed in gymnastics while attending the Air Force Academy. Continuing his military career, he flew C-130 and C-141 aircraft.Tom retired as a Colonel after twenty-six years in Alamogordo, New Mexico, and then worked for several defense contractors on Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, White Sands Missile Range, and Travis Air Force Base, California. His three children were raised to be independent, fair, adventurous, and responsible. Tom also was a father figure to many of his children's friends. Traveling, four-wheeling in the mountains, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends were his greatest passions. We were blessed with his love, humor, grace, generosity, and humbleness. He will be greatly missed and is now in the arms of his Lord and Savior.Tom is survived by his wife, Sherry; children, Scott, Michael, Christine, and stepson, Michael Burnes; grandchildren, Megan, Devon, Cora, Iian, and Jared; and great-grandson, Kollin.A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at the U.S. Air Force Academy Cemetery, Air Force Academy, Colorado 80841.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tom's memory to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund: (www.curealz.org); or to the Alzheimer's Association: (www.alz.org) would be welcome.
