Obituary of Gwendolyn Jean Reese
Gwendolyn "Gwen" Jean Reese, age 85, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away July 4, 2021 in Colorado Springs. She was born December 17, 1935 to Glen and Lavelle Miller in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Lewis Palmer High School after moving to Colorado Springs in 1951.She was co-owner/operator of Volcks World in Colorado Springs from 1974-1979. In 1980 she received her Real Estate License and worked with various real estate companies during her thirty-year career. She retired from real estate in 2010.Gwen was President of the Pikes Peak Chapter of Women's Council of Realtors (WCR) in 1988, and she also received the WCR Woman of the Year award for that same year. In 1992, Gwen became the Colorado State chapter Governor of WCR and also received woman of the year award for that same year. In 1994 Gwen received her CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation.The Pikes Peak Association of Realtors, Inc recognized Gwen for her twenty-five years of membership and performance resulting in significant contributions to the mission and goals of the association in 2005.Gwen was an avid golfer and played many games at Patty Jewett Golf Course in Colorado Springs.Gwen is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert A. Reese; her oldest daughter, Laurie L. Leitsch; her granddaughter, Melissa Jean Gordon; her sister, Patricia Kranz; as well as both parents.Gwen is survived by her husband, Richard Anderson; her daughters, Kathy and Christine Reese; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; as well as one great-great-grandson.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to The Springs Funeral Services and Abode Hospice.Memorial contributions in Gwen's memory may be made to the charity of the giver's choice.
