Obituary of Richard Joseph Barber
Richard Joseph Barber passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from complications of heart surgery at the age of 77. Husband to Nancy Barber, father of four, grandfather to eleven, father figure to hundreds of students.Richard was born June 21, 1944 to Joe and Frannie Barber. He grew up to love music, trained in operatic singing, and spent his early adulthood years teaching theater, choir, band, and orchestra in private and public schools. In his early forties, he went to Bible school, graduated, and became ordained as a minister of the Gospel. He served in two churches as pastor and many more churches as interim pastor and choir director. Through several years of study, he acquired certification as a piano tuner and had a small business tuning pianos for the last nineteen years of his life.He loved Jesus. He loved his family. He loved animals and children and all good things God created. He loved to write music that reflected the beauty of God and gave all who listened to it and performed it a glimpse of that beauty.
